Telling Stories

telling stories
to my grandchildren
decades before birth

This haiku was written some time ago, following a dream in which I was telling stories to my grandchildren. Bear in mind that my children are currently aged 4 months old and 2.5 years. There is a certain charm in such warm dreams, and I very much hope that they come true. At least, when I actually get to tell stories to my grandchildren, at least I will have had (several decades of) practice, thanks to such dreams.

The image is from last year, when the ultrasound scan told us the sex of our second child. This piece of information served to rapidly partition people we knew into (i) people who had guessed the sex correctly, and (ii) people who had not. I'll let you decide which is which, from the image...

(This image hung on the wall of my wife's and my laboratory for some months.)
