bumping into heaven
above the Himalayas
the smell of noodles

A strange photograph, non?

It is the first taken by Xiaohu, my little boy. He grabbed the camera from his amused father and took a photograph of the corner of my teatable, from his (rather low) vantage point.

It fits rather nicely with the haiku, which I wrote on an aeroplane above the mountains. While we flew over some of the most inhospitable terrain in the world, scraping against the ceiling of the world, the stewardess served excellent Chinese noodles.

Up there, right next to heaven, everything looked rather similar to Xiaohu's photograph. I can still smell the noodles...

This is a delightful haiku! And very well crafted... Little layers of mystery, plainness and surprise.

I have just stumbled onto your blog and am enjoying it. I look forward to your future postings.
