The house fills with their gentle scent, as they grow under the windows at the side of the house. You know that spring has arrived when the perfume of rosemary flowers makes itself known. Likewise, it is the end-scent for winter, closing the chapter on a dark and flood-ridden few months, and showing us that the cycle is about to begin all over again. All from that gentle, subtle scent of the rosemary flowers.
The image that makes the haiga is a bunch of lavender, picked by my dear wife from her herb garden, which is tucked away past the willow and fruit trees. She dries the lavender, and uses it to scent the house when Nature is not obliging, before the first scents of spring.

Funny looking Rosemary you have in Oxfordshire.
