I have long loved this haiku of the original master, Basho.
Last year, my own lady butterfly gave me the opportunity to revisit the haiku, as she picked and dried her own perfume. Pictured here, lavender drying out on our dining room table, with the rustic little home-made bags that will eventually contain them.
My love of sweet smells overcame the resultant hay fever.
